The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has opened a public comment period for the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Social Studies.

The standards were revised during the 2024–2025 school year. Following a ruling by the Oklahoma Supreme Court, the Social Studies standards have undergone an additional review and will again be available for public comment in 2026.

OSDE encourages all interested stakeholders to participate in the review process and provide feedback on the draft standards. Stakeholders may choose to conduct the review individually or as part of a review team and are encouraged to set aside time to examine a specific grade band or all grade bands.

The Draft Oklahoma Academic Standards for Social Studies, published on Jan. 29, are available for public comment. Feedback must be submitted no later than Feb. 18, by completing this form.

All feedback received during the public comment period will be reviewed by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the executive committee for consideration as part of the standards revision process.
