The Henryetta Tournament concluded with a tightly contested seventh- place game Saturday as the Henryetta Lady Knights closed strong to secure a 52-50 victory over the Beggs Lady Demons. What began as a fast start for Beggs turned into a defensive and momentum-driven comeback that allowed the host team to finish the tournament on a high note.
Beggs set the tone early, jumping out to a 22-9 advantage after the first quarter. The Lady Demons controlled the pace behind an aggressive offensive push and efficient scoring in transition. Kamya Stallings was especially active in the opening period, accounting for the majority of Beggs’ early points as the Demons pressured Henryetta into a slow start.
Henryetta responded in the second quarter by tightening its defense and finding balance on the offensive end. Aubrey Taylor sparked the Lady Knights with consistent scoring, while Zoe Boatright and Maddie Rock helped shift momentum by attacking the lane and creating second-chance opportunities. The Lady Knights outscored Beggs 11-2 in the quarter, cutting the deficit to just four points by halftime.
The third quarter proved to be the turning point. Henryetta continued its surge with improved ball movement and defensive intensity, holding Beggs to single-digit scoring for the second straight period. Taylor remained steady, while Kynlee Wynne and Boatright added timely baskets to push the Lady Knights ahead. Henryetta’s 19-point third quarter gave them their first lead of the game and energized the home crowd.
Beggs answered in the final period with a determined effort to regain control. Paden Stallings provided a spark with six fourth-quarter points, and Abigail Harmon added key scoring down the stretch. Emmabreah Triplett and Rylan Wesley contributed throughout the game, helping the Lady Demons stay within striking distance until the final moments.
Henryetta, however, maintained composure late. Taylor and Boatright continued to anchor the offense, while Keegan Hamric added crucial points to help protect the narrow lead. Despite a late push from Beggs, the Lady Knights’ defensive pressure forced difficult possessions in the closing minutes, allowing Henryetta to preserve the two-point win.
Kamya Stallings led all scorers for Beggs with 21 points, followed by Paden Stallings with 12. Triplett finished with eight, Harmon added seven and Wesley chipped in two. For Henryetta, Taylor paced the Lady Knights with 17 points, Boatright followed with 14, Wynne scored eight, Rock added four and Hamric finished with three.
With the win, Henryetta claimed seventh place in the tournament and improved to 5-7 on the season, with its next game scheduled for Jan. 16 on the road at Morris. Beggs dropped to 4-8 overall and will return to action Jan. 13 at home against Kellyville.
