Mojo Grappling succeeds at Battle for the Belt

The Mojo Grappling Academy (MGA) traveled to Tulsa the weekend before Christmas for the Battle for the Belt individual and dual tournaments, hosted by the Blue T wrestling club. The MGA athletes continued their progression on the season and almost each athlete that competed brought home some hardware.

Kaden Decker would dominate his novice bracket going 3-0 with all three wins coming by way of pin fall. Decker would only spend a total of 2 minutes and 14 seconds on the mat to earn his championship Belt. Decker would not surrender a single point during his three matches.

Aryzona “Nona” Cummings would also bring home a championship Belt from her Novice bracket after going 3-0 with two wins coming by way of pin fall and only allowing one point to be scored on her during the tournament. Nona would also compete in the girls division where she would finish with a silver medal in her round robin style bracket.

Rikki Olsen pinned her way to the finals before dropping a tough championship match. Rikki would turn around and defend her 2nd place medal in the challenge match by pinning her third opponent on the day finishing 3-1 (three falls). Autumn Brigge would bring home second place after going 1-1 in her round robin style bracket. Harper Pierce and Lillian Primeaux also earned silver medals for their hardwork on the day with fellow 6U wrestler Maesa Brigge who finished the day 2-1 (one fall) in her bracket.

Colton “Colt 45” Tecumseh captured a bronze medal after going 2-1 in his bracket.

Raelynn Traweek would go 2-2 (1 fall) on the day to earn a 4th place finish with teammate Kannon Engelhardt following suit. Engelhardt went 1-3 in his round robin bracket. Maisyn Hulbutta and Harper Tecumseh- Sands both placed fourth in their respective round robin style brackets rounding out the medalists for the tournament.

MGA is extremely proud of all of our athletes who continue to step on the mat and make great progress towards their ultimate goals with this sport. Thank you to the parent’s, families and friends who continue to support our academy and athletes as we finish this last half of the season.

MGA sponsors include Doty Concrete Construction, Gilroy Cattle, Loafing Acres, BOOST Athletics Foundation, Hometown Healthcare Solution, Central Perk Coffee Shop, the Okmulgee Times and Henryetta Free-Lance, Mvskoke Media, the Okmulgee Indian Community Center and the Wilson Indian Community Center.
