The City of Okmulgee will host its annual Electronic Waste Recycling Event exclusively for City utility account holders on Friday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will take place at the Okmulgee Recycling Center, located at 301 E. 3rd Street.
Residents will have the opportunity to responsibly dispose of broken, outdated or unwanted electronic devices. Accepted items include televisions, computers, computer monitors, fax machines, cell phones, printers, microwave ovens, radios, stereos, speakers, small electric appliances and telephones.
A $25 charge per television and $5 charge per CRT monitor will apply, and the event will be cash only. Participants must bring a recent water bill and photo ID to verify their utility account.
City officials remind residents that items containing refrigerant, a fuel source or any radiation source will not be accepted.
Employees from the City of Okmulgee will be on site to assist participants throughout the event. For more information, residents may contact Okmulgee Public Works at 918-756– 4159.
