The Muscogee Nation marked a major milestone on Oct. 8 with a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Tribal Courthouse, a state-of-the-art facility that will serve as the future home of both the Nation’s District Court and Supreme Court.
The event attended by tribal leaders, staff and community members, celebrated a project that has been years in the making – one designed to meet the growing needs of a justice system experiencing a rapid increase in caseloads following recent jurisdictional expansions.
The new courthouse will span more than 52,000 square feet, providing a modern and efficient space to support the Nation’s judicial operations. Tribal officials said the facility will not only expand capacity but also streamline services, ensuring that the Muscogee Nation’s courts can continue to operate effectively and with dignity as demand grows.
“This new building rep- resents a powerful step forward for our Nation’s justice system,” officials said. “The enhanced infrastructure will allow for a more adequate and streamlined process that honors the rights and needs of all Muscogee citizens.”
The expansive design will integrate both the Muscogee (Creek) Nation District Court and the Supreme Court, bringing the two branches under one roof for the first time in a modern, purpose-built facility. The upgraded courthouse will include improved security, accessibility and technology to better serve tribal members and court personnel alike.
The project is being made possible through the collaborative efforts of tribal leadership, staff, and professional partners. The Nation extended gratitude to Candor Building Solutions and New Fire Native for their roles in turning the vision into reality.
Construction is already underway at the facility that will be located on Eufaula Street, just east of One Fire Casino.
