The Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, to cover a variety of agenda items.

The board approved a resolution selecting CED as the engineering firm to perform county bridge inspections. The panel also approved a Resolution on Interlocal Agreement with OCCEDB with Commissioner Michael representing the county and Commissioner Steve Ward as alternate.

Agenda items approved were:

• Officers’ Reports Election Board for the month of September

• Blanket Purchase Orders – District 1, Cintas, $800; District 3 to Auto-Zone, $500, District 3 to RPI, $750.

• Approval of Employee Forms – District 1: Brent Gaasch, employment ceased; Kenny Banks, Britten Porske and Danny Putman, all full-time. Also approved was Requisitioning/Receiving Officers for the OCSO/911.

• Utility Permits – District 3 with Rural Water District #1

• Private Property Agreements -District 2 with Watson Family Ranch

• Declaration to Surplus and the Disposal of Equipment – transfer tank for District 3 A shed for Emergency Management was also given the green light, along with Transfer of Appropriations, Payment of Claims and a Cash Fund Request of Appropriations.

— Emergency Management Update OC Emergency Management Director Jeffrey Moore provided a brief but detailed update on recent activities and ongoing concerns across Okmulgee County.

The director reported that the department completed a training session with the American Red Cross last week to strengthen coordination during disaster response. Crews also responded to three to four grass fires throughout the county, emphasizing that conditions remain extremely dry. Residents were urged to avoid burning until the area receives significant rainfall, which could arrive later in the week.
