Harvest Spoon Chili Festival approaches

Okmulgee Main Street is excited to announce the return of its much-anticipated annual Harvest Spoon Chili Festival, taking place Saturday, Oct. 18, in historic Downtown Okmulgee. This family-friendly event brings together community, competition, food, music and fun for all ages.

The day kicks off bright and early with vendor and participant setup, followed by a full lineup of activities, contests, live entertainment and, of course, delicious chili.

— Schedule of Events *Subject to Change

• 8-9 a.m. – Marketplace, Chili Participant, Junk in the Trunk & CMN Farmers Market Load-In

• 9:30 a.m. – Cornhole Tournament

• 10 a.m. – Chili Judging

• 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Live Music: The Tradesmen • Morning Activities – 5K & Fun Run, hosted by YMCA – Marketplace – Kids Zone, hosted by ClearView Baptist – Pumpkin Chunkin, presented by Neal’s Homestore – Junk in the Trunk – Farmers Market

• 11:30 a.m. – Chili Café opens, tasting kits on sale – Hot Chili Pepper Eating Contest

• 12:30 p.m. – Preston Jump Rope Team Performance • 1-3 p.m. – Live Music: Suga-Loaf Watson & Beyana • 1:45 p.m. – Rotary Dessert Auction

• 3 p.m. – Chili Contest Winners Announced (People’s Choice, Business, Nonprofit & Individual) The event concludes following the awards ceremony.

This year’s festival promises something for everyone – whether you’re tasting your way through the chili competition, cheering at the cornhole tournament, shopping the marketplace or enjoying live music and family activities.

“We’re excited to bring this favorite fall event back to downtown,” Johnna Yoder, Okmulgee Main Street Director, said. “The Harvest Spoon Chili Festival showcases our community spirit and offers a full day of fun while supporting local businesses and nonprofits.”

Come hungry, bring the family and celebrate fall at the Okmulgee Main Street Annual Harvest Spoon Chili Festival on Saturday, Oct. 18.
