The City of Morris is gearing up for a spectacular Saturday of community events this Saturday, Sept. 27, with something for everyone- from vintage car lovers and bargain hunters to BBQ fans and hometown supporters. — Lions to hold ‘Blast from the Past’ Car Show downtown The highlight of the day will be the annual Blast From the Past Car Show, proudly presented by the Morris Lions Club. Taking place in downtown Morris, the event draws classic car enthusiasts from around the region to showcase cars, trucks and bikes from across the decades.
Registration begins at 9 a.m., with entry fees set at $25 per vehicle and a $5 fee for additional specialty class entries. Categories span vintage to modern-day vehicles, including cars from 1900 to the 2010s, along with cruisers, sport bikes and special interest entries.
Five Specialty Classes will be judged:
• Best Paint
• Best Flames
• Best Interior
• Best Engine
• Best Pinstripes An Awards Ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m., and all entries will be eligible for raffle drawings at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. Each registered vehicle gets one raffle ticket, with additional tickets available for $5 each.

Early risers can start their day at the Flea Market, happening from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 601 W. Ozark in Morris. Visitors can browse through boxes of old toys, kitchenware, books, vintage items, and unexpected treasures. The Flea Market is a great opportunity to connect with neighbors and support local vendors offering secondhand goods and unique finds.
With its early morning hours, the flea market offers the perfect first stop before heading downtown for the car show and festivities.
— Eagles Archery Team to hold fundraiser with Mother Tucker’s BBQ Also joining the excitement is a fundraiser benefiting the Morris Eagles Archery team, held alongside the car show. Guests can enjoy breakfast or lunch from the always-popular Mother Tucker’s BBQ, known for their mouthwatering smoked meats and lively branding.
Proceeds will support the Morris Eagles Archery program, helping fund equipment, travel, and competition fees. It’s a great way to enjoy delicious food while backing a growing student sport in the community.
