Celebrating the life of Nita Kay Hendrix- Drake 7-25-1947 – 7-182025 Born on July 25, 1947, in Alsuma, Okla, a suburb of Tulsa, to Martha & C.W. Willis.
Nita departed this life on July 18, 2025, just seven days before her 78th birthday, from liver cancer at her home in Beggs with her family and loved ones present.
Nita was a hard working woman; a straight shooter; and didn’t put up with nonsense. She told it like it was. She loved a clean house! It was a must! And a clean car. Her hobbies were: crocheting, gardening, cooking/baking. She loved music and dancing. She loved classic cars, the ‘57 Chevy being her favorite. Most of all she loved collecting Betty Boop memorabilia.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Martha & CW Willis; her baby brother, William; her sisters, Mary July 25, 1947 – July 18, 2025
and Sandy; her husband, Bill Drake and her dear friend, Billy Bilshear.
Nita is survived by her two children Tracy Hendrix and wife Gail; Tammy Hendrix- Briggs and husband, Boice Briggs; nine grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren; four brothers, John, Jim, Jack, and Tim; two sisters, Susie and Margie.
She was surrounded by love and will be greatly missed.
Nita’s memorial service will be Saturday August 2, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church in Beggs 6962 Happy Camp Rd.
