As the sun rises on a new chapter for the Class of 2025, the excitement is palpable across Okmulgee County. This is more than a graduation – it is a tribute to perseverance, hard work and the unbreakable bonds formed through years of triumphs, challenges and unforgettable memories.

Students, teachers, parents and entire communities are coming together this week and next to honor the graduates who are ready to take their final walk across the stage. They will exchange their familiar hallways for new journeys in higher education, careers, military service and beyond.

Each of these ceremonies is not only a celebration of stu- dents but also a recognition of those who guided them: the dedicated teachers, counselors, coaches, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, principals and superintendents who walked beside them, cheered them on, and sometimes gave them that gentle nudge when they needed it most.

And, of course, the unsung heroes – parents, guardians and families – who provided unwavering support, who dried tears, encouraged through doubt and beamed with pride through every milestone.

As they prepare to toss their caps into the sky, it is important to remember that graduation is not just an ending, but a beginning. It’s the start of new adventures, new friendships and new opportunities to make their mark on the world.

— Upcoming Ceremonies

• Morris High School – Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at the Mvskoke Dome

• Okmulgee High School – Saturday, May 17, at 8 a.m. at Brock Gymnasium

• Henryetta High School – Friday, May 23, at 7 p.m. at the Knights Center Each ceremony promises to be filled with emotion, joy and a touch of bittersweet reflection as students say farewell to the places and people who have shaped them.

— A Special Salute

LeAundre Delonia, OHS Valedictorian

Among this year’s standouts is LeAundre Trashon Delonia, the 2025 Valedictorian of Okmulgee High School – a young man I have personally watched grow into an exceptional leader, speaker and ambassador of the Bulldog spirit. LeAundre’s journey is one defined by dedication, resilience and a heart for service. From FFA to Student Council, Academic Team to the stage of the drama club, LeAundre has embraced every opportunity to lead and inspire. His accolades speak volumes, but it’s his character, kindness and authenticity that will leave the most lasting legacy at OHS.

As he prepares to attend Oklahoma State University, pursuing a degree in Agriculture Education, we can only imagine the bright future ahead of him. LeAundre, your voice, leadership and compassion will serve you – and all those lucky enough to cross your path – well. Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog. Go forth and conquer, young man. We are proud of you.

— Beyond the Stage

A Goodbye to All Who Made It Possible

While we celebrate the Class of 2025, it is also a farewell to the teachers, faculty and staff who have guided these students through their formative years – some of whom may also be closing chapters in their own lives. To them, we say thank you. You have left an indelible mark on this generation.

And to our families – those proud parents, grandparents, siblings and guardians – thank you for your sacrifices, your patience and your steadfast love.

They say you never miss a good thing until it’s gone. But the lessons, friendships and memories of these days will live on, cherished forever.

Congratulations, Class of 2025. May your futures be as bright as the smiles you’ll wear as you cross that stage.
