Anna Marie Hancock

Anna Marie (Horton) Hancock was born October 13, 1940, in Talihina to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Fox) Horton. She passed away Monday, March 24, 2025, in Tulsa at 84 years of age.

Anna graduated from Lawton High School and received an associates degree from Cameron State Agricultural College. She later would work for the Muscogee Nation Housing Authority for over thirty years, retiring when her first grandchild was born. Anna enjoyed watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and college basketball. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends from the Home and Community Education (HCE) organization. Her greatest love was being part of her grandchildren’s lives, especially their sports and school activities.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, a October 13, 1940 – March 24, 2025

brother, Lewis Horton and a nephew, Michael Horton.

Survivors include her son, Ron Hancock and wife Heather, grandchildren, Braxton and Brylee “Bebe” Hancock, sister, Bobby Sue Erwin, nephews, Steve Erwin and wife Carla and Mark Horton and wife Susan, nieces, Stacey Cox and Janet Crow and husband Jim, numerous great nieces and nephews and many special cousins.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 27, 2025, from 5-7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Mc-Clendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Interment will follow at Okmulgee Cemetery.

Anna’s family encourages wearing or showcasing purple, her cherished color as a tribute to her.
