Timothy Daniel Ingram

Timothy “Tim” Daniel Ingram was born on November 5, 1957, in Okmulgee to his parents Lawrence Robert and Nina.

Growing up in Okmulgee, he met Cheryl Ingram when he was 16 and she was 15. He graduated with the class of 1976 from Okmulgee High School. After two years of dating the same year, they married on September 11, 1976. They welcomed three children, Timothy, Nathan and Zachary, completing their family.

As a lifelong Okmulgee resident, he knew someone everywhere he went. In fact, most of the town either worked for him, had a kid who worked for him or was served by him at the local Dairy Queen or Burger King. Tim took pride in his role, whether as a general manager, worship leader, jack-ofall trades or a grandfather. Whether you knew him or just met him, you could agree that his kind heart uplifted yours. Since he was a teenager, Tim has lived with dedication to his career and always was working on a project. He worked at Dairy Queen for 21 years, owned and operated a roofing company for over three years, managed Burger King for 17 years and helped with many projects and maintenance at his son Tim’s funeral home in Yukon for four years. He was a craftsman and found joy in helping others with projects, repairs, painting, sheetrock, yard work and anything else you needed! Tim taught his children and each employee the importance of hard work and doing your job with excellence. Many high school and college students in Okmulgee were encouraged by his mentoring through the years.

Tim not only served through his job, but also through the church as well. He served for many years as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Minister and Music Minister at Calvary Baptist Church. He was an integral part in growing the church forward in the 1980’s, positively impacting the town for many years to come. Through Promise Keepers and hosting Men’s Breakfasts at church, Tim displayed a big heart for mentoring and encouraging other men through discipleship. He was known for his love of sharing the gospel and helping the lost look to God for hope. Christian Hymns have always been a deep November 5, 1957 – August 27, 2024

part of Tim. He took piano lessons when his children were growing up, and loved to travel the state, ministering through singing and playing at revivals and nursing homes.

His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He watched each of them the first few years of the lives while their parents were at work. Weekends with “Poppy” were filled with playing at the park, water play in the yard, jumping on the trampoline, mowing the lawn or swinging on the tree swing. There was always a trip to the store for ice cream or a special toy from their Poppy. After the passing of his first wife Cheryl in 2020, Tim met Phyllis and they married on September 19, 2021, and shared many happy memories together traveling, going to revivals, church and dancing.

Tim Ingram is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Ingram and Nina I Asher; first wife, Cheryl Ingram; sister, Doris Lauderdale; brother, Larry Ingram; grandson, Mason Ingram; and a special baby he never got to meet.

Those who will miss him dearly and wait to see him again include his wife, Phyllis Ingram; sons, Tim Ingram and wife Christy Ingram, Nathan and wife Kristen Ingram, Zac and wife Arielle Ingram; grandchildren, Carter, Miranda, Maximus, Abigail, Victoria, Elijah and Elisheva; brother, Dennis and wife Teri Ingram; sister, Norene and husband Gerald Foreman; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Tim Ingram’s life will be honored with a visitation on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 4-8 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee. His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Okmulgee Cemetery. Services in care of Ingram, Smith & Turner Mortuary of Yukon. Please visit www.IngramSmith-Turner.com to leave a condolence or special memory for his family.
