Margaret Stout

Margaret “Ann” (Wise) Stout passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in Edmond. She was born on August 7, 1939, in Okmulgee to the late Carnie Wilson and Dorothea Lee Wise.

She attended the University of Oklahoma and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She married her high school sweetheart Robert (“Bob”) Stout on August 30, 1958, and they moved to Oklahoma City in 1959. She retired after a long career at Kerr McGee Oil Company and had many dedicated years of service as a loaned executive for the United Way of Central Oklahoma. She loved to read, sew and cook, always putting out a wonderful holiday spread for her family that could have fed all of Oklahoma City. She enjoyed playing bridge and golf and spending time with family at the lake. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was lovingly called Nanny, Nanners, and Nanabanana by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be forever missed and loved by family and friends.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include her brother Richard Wise and wife Denise of Okmulgee; August 7, 1939 – November 29, 2023

son, Robert Mark Stout of Edmond and daughter, Susan Ann Stout of Edmond. Surviving grandchildren include Tiffany Thomas and husband John of Edmond, Christin Browning and husband Adam of Maryville, Tenn., Zachary Dawson and wife Braden of Norman, Robert Stout and wife Madison of the Village, Cambrie Rice and husband Jordan, and great grandchildren Layken, Olivia, Graham, Owen, Deacon, Jett and Evelyn.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to the kind and caring individuals at Tessa’s Landing and Affinity Hospice for the loving and compassionate care she received in her final months.

Memorial gifts may be made to United Way of Central Oklahoma or to the charity of your choice. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2023, at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave.
