The Okmulgee Community Theatre is hosting the Preston High School Dram Club this evening for a performance of the one-act play “We are the Sea.” This is the last of two shows which began yesterday at the Orpheum Theater, in preparation for the club’s upcoming participation in the OSSAA Drama Regionals competition.
The club is under the direction of Mrs. Devin Doupe, who spoke more about the club, the upcoming shows, and plans for the future.
“We are extremely excited for the opportunity to compete with Preston’s first competitive drama program as we go to our second competition ever. Our program is incredibly fortunate to have such a supportive student, staff and administrative body that pushes our group to be our very best. Our current goals are to become an established, self-sustaining program that allows Preston to eventually get our own Fine Arts Center. We are also so grateful to The Orpheum for allowing us to utilize their venue. Community engagement and restoration is near and dear to my heart, so I am excited about the upcoming partnerships that are coming to Okmulgee County.”
The Preston Drama Club’s performance of “We are the Sea” will take place tonight at 7 p.m.
