Patricia Jane Oswald

Patricia Jane “Pat” Oswald, 81, of Eureka, Mo., formerly of Okmulgee, passed away August 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born April 22, 1942, in Berkley, Calif. to Luther D. and Juanita J. (Davis) Henderson, Pat grew up in Nuyaka and graduated from Beggs High School in 1960. After living for over 25 years in Decatur, Ill., Pat returned to Okmulgee to be close to family and friends. In 2019, she moved to Eureka, Mo.

Pat was a devout Christian and is now enjoying the glory of Heaven. Pat loved her time as a substitute teacher in the Morris schools for over 10 years. She was a loving mother and was very proud of her five grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to brag about them.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include daughter M. Diane Engle (John) of Eureka, Mo; son Steven W. Oswald (Amy) of Colleyville, Texas; grandchildren John D. Engle of Beavercreek, Ohio, Andrew J. Oswald of Justin, Texas, Abigail M. Oswald of New York City, Cassandra D. Engle of Lincoln, Neb. and Ethan W. Oswald April 22, 1942 – August 23, 2023

of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brothers Fred (Joyce) Henderson of Nuyaka and Wayne “Rusty” (Kristy) Henderson of Vinita; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11 a.m. at McClendon- Winters Life Celebration Center, 310 E. 6th St. in Okmulgee. A private burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clearview Kids at Clearview Baptist Church, 16950 Loop 56, Okmulgee, Oklahoma 74447. Arrangements have been entrusted to McClendon- Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
