Subjects facing district court dates

Two arrested for gun possession, drug paraphernalia Two people were arrested earlier this week when a vehicle search led to the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun.

According to the court information, around 12 p.m. on July 16, an OHP trooper was fueling his patrol car at the Shell station in Henryetta when he noticed a white Mazda with two occupants, a male and female, inside.

Upon running the license plate, the officer noticed the tag on the Mazda was actually for a Ford Focus, and a check of the occupant’s information revealed the male to have felony warrants.

While attempting to detain the man, who allegedly resisted arrest, the trooper also saw a sawed-off shotgun on the passenger-side floorboard, as well as a glass pipe and other drug paraphernalia.

The subjects, identified as Payton Turney, 23, and Allie Farrow, 24, were then arrested and booked in the Okmulgee County Jail. They are both being held on complaints of possession of a firearm, CDs, and paraphernalia. Turney is facing a complaint of resisting arrest, along with the hold due to warrants.

Turney’s bond is set at $27,999. Farrow’s is set at $27,000. Both are due in court on July 26 at 1:15 p.m.

— Stolen vehicle located in northern Okmulgee County At approximately 11:14 p.m. on July 17, Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to a call for a possible stolen vehicle on Ferguson Rd. south of the Duck Creek Casino. After arriving at the scene, he noticed a gold Buick Enclave with an Oklahoma tag and later confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

A casino security guard approached the trooper, as he called a wrecker for the vehicle, and let him know that there was video surveillance of a man in a black shirt and black pants with white stripes abandoning the vehicle on the side of the road.

The court document stated that not long after a second trooper arrived on the scene, another man matching the description of the one in the surveillance footage also arrived on the scene. This subject, later identified as Pablo Padilla, initially claimed the vehicle was his and that he was putting gas in it, but later confirmed it belonged to his girlfriend. He admitted to taking the vehicle after a fight.

Padilla was then placed under arrest and booked in the Okmulgee County Jail on a $10,000 bond. His next court date is set for July 26 at 1:15 p.m.

— Stolen SUV recovered in Henryetta, two arrested Two people were arrested July 15 after they were found in a vehicle reported stolen out of Okmulgee.

Around 4 p.m., a Henryetta police officer was patrolling in the area of 3rd and Warren, when he noticed a black Cadillac Escalade turning westbound on Warren Rd. After getting behind the vehicle and doing a check on the tag, the officer discovered it was reported stolen out of Okmulgee.

According to court records, the vehicle turned into a driveway, and the passenger, identified as Yolanda Garza Holden, 49, of Okmulgee, exited the vehicle and walked around the home.

The driver, Kay Lynn Kidwell, 37, was detained by the officer. Holden was found about a block north of 5th Street a short time later and was detained.

The owner of the vehicle identified Holden as the one that stole the vehicle in Okmulgee.

Both were booked in the Okmulgee County Jail, where they are being held on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle. Bond is set at $20,000 for each suspect, and both are due in Okmulgee County district court for an initial appearance on July 26 at 1:15 p.m.

— Former employee arrested on burglary complaint An Okmulgee man is due in district court July 16 after he was arrested inside a home he allegedly broke into.

On July 14, Okmulgee police responded to a residence in the 900 block of W. 1st Street in regards to a possible breaking and entering. Upon arriving, the officers were informed that a man was inside the home. After being given an order to exit the home, the man, identified as Nicholas William Knight, 32, came outside.

According to court documents, Knight told the police he had permission to be inside the home, however, when they contacted the person information was given for, they were advised that Knight had been fired earlier in the day for “stealing materials from a job site and attempting to return them to a store in Tulsa.”

Knight was taken into custody and transported to the Okmulgee County Jail. A window had been removed from the home in order for the subject to get access inside.

Knight is being held on a $10,000 bond.
