This past Wednesday, June 14, marked the kickoff of the Children’s Garden Project, hosted by Okmulgee Community Garden and YMCA GO Summer Camp Program. The YMCA will bring 2nd and 3rd grade students to the garden to learn gardening basics. Garden Teachers will be Joy Crow and Glynis Coleman, who also developed this year’s program curriculum. Students will be taught square foot planting and will be able to choose whether they grow vegetables from seed or from a transplant or both.
