OSU Institute of Technology’s 227th Commencement will be held Friday, April 19, at 5 p.m. in Covelle Hall. The spring ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of over 300 career-ready students. Oklahoma State University Vice President of System Affairs Kyle Wray will be the keynote speaker.
As a senior member of President Kayse Shrum’s leadership team, Wray has played a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership for the president’s office and OSU branch campuses. His journey with the OSU system, which began two decades ago as the director of marketing, is a testament to his dedication and commitment. Wray’s contributions have been instrumental in shaping system initiatives and driving enrollment.
OSU experienced unprecedented growth under Wray’s stewardship, with consecutive record-setting enrollment years. 2022, the first-year class had the most significant enrollment year ever, followed by the largest undergraduate class in 2023.
The student respondent for the spring commencement will be Tristan Stuard, an Information Technologies graduate from OSUIT’s School of Creative & Information Technologies.
In addition to his stellar academic performance, Stuard has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service and leadership roles on campus. His role as the president of the Student Government Association, his dedication to tutoring peers and his volunteer work with Peanut Butter and Jesus, an organization that helps feed the needy, are all testaments to his character and the values we hold dear at OSUIT.
Stuard expressed his gratitude when asked about his selection as a student respondent, stating, “I am deeply honored to have been chosen; it is a privilege to represent my fellow graduates and share our journey.”
Doors to Covelle Hall will open for visitors at 3:45-5 p.m. ceremony. For more information on OSUIT’s commencement ceremonies, visit osuit.edu/commencement.
