Staying Fit Is The Key
April 11, 2024
Staying Fit Is The Key
By Patrick Ford

A ribbon cutting was held April 4 for the new playground at Preston Public Schools, thanks to fundraising efforts and grants from various donors.

Preston Public School, Fitness 4 Kids Organizers, Kellie Wynn and Bobbie Fox, would like to express their deepest thanks for the incredible support and overwhelming success of the annual 5K and Fun Run fundraiser.

It is open to all students, teachers, parents, and community members.

Three years in a row, this event has been immensely successful. In particular, Mrs. Wynn and Mrs. Fox extend their sincerest appreciation to two influential and kind donors, Stewart Martin Kobota and the Sam Viersen Family Foundation. Their vision was to provide the Preston community with a playground and other outdoor activities that promote physical fitness. Through the 5K race and the support of all the participants, sponsors, and donors, this goal has been met.

The students of Preston have a brand new outdoor physical fitness obstacle course, GaGa ball pit, and a safer foundation for their big slide.

“We cannot thank everyone enough for the incredible support given to our school. From the bottom of our hearts, we are deeply grateful.”

The next 5K/Fun Run is May 15th at Preston Schools, Jim Waller Sports Complex. The new goal is to help our school restore the track.

Online registration form can be accessed at www.prestonps.org
