Lizanne Holata

Lizanne Holata, 69, of Morris, passed away peacefully at her home on March 25, 2026. She was born on June 27, 1956, in Claremore to James Ahtone Holata and Dorthy Ruth (Daniel) Pinezaddleby.

Lizanne dedicated her career as a secretary for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, where she proudly put her Associate’s degree to use. She was a woman of many passions and talents. Lizanne enjoyed beadwork, playing pool, traveling to new places, dancing, playing dice, riding motorcycles, camping at the lake and, most importantly, spending cherished time with her family and friends. She also took pride in her gardening and liked to believe she had a green thumb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Janice Bailey and Corly Holata; her nephews, Joshua Gordon and John Holata; and her great-niece, Vylette June 27, 1956 – March 25, 2026

Lizanne is lovingly remembered by her husband, Mark Stayer; her children, James Holata, Mark Holata, Matthew Holata and Miguel Madrigal; her sisters, Barbara Lane, Jamie Holata and Mary Holata; and her grandchildren, Ryan Holata, Carly James, Lena James, Kayla James, Malek Myers, Taylor Martines, Avery Holata, Mataly Holata, Issac Madrigal and Rocia Madrigal. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

Lizanne will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of life and the deep connections she shared with those around her.

A wake service will be held Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Big Cussetah Church starting at 5 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, at Big Cussetah Church, with interment will follow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mc-Clendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Lizanne’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon-winters. com.
