3 uncertified officers have been hired and have since reported to the academy. One has an estimated graduation date of June, with the other two predicated to finish up this Fall. They reported 2 positions left to fill.

Fire Department:

Fire Chief Dewayne Hurt talked about the efforts to assist surrounding city’s who experienced more damage from the recent storms. Burn permit are still being issues to residents. 10 new radios were placed into services. The department is still assisting with the ongoing opioid crisis.
