Vernon William Oisten Jr.
Vernon William Oisten Jr. 71, of Kingston, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019, at his home in Kingston. He was born June 10, 1947, in Okmulgee, to the late Vernon W. Oisten Sr. and Audrey Lois Harkrider Oisten.
Vernon was raised in Okmulgee and graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1966. He lived in the Lake Texoma and Kingston area for the past 40 years and worked for W.W. Trailer until he retired after 25 years. He married Georgette Cox on October 4, 2001, in Madill. Vernon enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and other old westerns. He was an avid race car fan, owner and collector of classic cars. Vernon also enjoyed working on his rat rods with his car buddies. He was known for cutting up with everyone he met, often saying “If I can’t BS with you, I can’t talk to you.”
He is survived by his wife, Georgetta Oisten, Kingston; children: Bradley William Oisten of Little Axe, Holly, Amanda and Heather of Juneau, Alaska, Samantha Williams of Davis, 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorial Service will be Monday, May 20, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home, Kingston. Mike Hobbs will officiate the service. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home of Madill. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com .
