Ruby Frits Coppinger

November 6, 1944 - November 24, 2018

Ruby “Jean” Frits Cop-pinger entered Heaven’s gates on November 24, 2018. Jean led a very full life and met her eternity with this same strength and dignity that she lived her life. Jean was born on November 6, 1944, the fourth of five children born to John and Evie Neel. She attended many schools but remembered her time at Armstrong School and Nowata High School the best. She graduated Nowata High School in May of 1962.

In August of 1962, Jean married her high school sweetheart, John Frits. She had the privilege the next several years of being a stay-at-home mom raising her two daughters. During this time, she volunteered her time as a Pink Lady at Okmulgee Hospital, homeroom mom for both daughters’ schools and Girl Scout Leader.

Jean returned to school at OSU Technical College in Okmulgee. She proudly graduated with a degree in Medical Secretarial Science and began working for Dr. Osborn in Okmulgee. In February 1994, Jean married her now husband Jessie Cop-pinger. She began her job at the State Hospital in Vinita as a Medical Records Specialist/Medical Secretary until retirement. Jean and Jessie enjoyed retirement spending time with their grandchildren and with their friends in Texas.

Jean is survived by her husband Jessie Coppinger; daughter Connie Perryman and husband David Perryman; step-son Joe Coppinger and wife Candace Coppinger; grandchildren Kyle Vann, Stephani Kuntz and husband Rod Kuntz, Tyler Perryman and wife Symphoney Perryman, Nicholas Perryman, Liliana Perryman, Alyssa Perryman, Kristofer Perryman, Cassidy Clark, Kaitlyn Gray and husband Joseph Coppinger, Cheyenne Cop-pinger; and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, John Jr and Troy Frits; one daughter, Niki Vann Myerricks; one brother Jim Neel; two sisters Ruth Noe and Susan Michaels; and her parents and grandparents.

A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Eastland Assembly of God, 12310 E. 21st Street, Tulsa, OK 74129. It is Jean’s wish that all in attendance will stay for a celebration of life luncheon immediately following the services.

Arrangements entrusted to Nichols-Stephens Funeral & Cremation Services, Grove.
