The Verdigris Invitational Tournament was the end of the regular season for the Okmulgee High School Speech and Drama Students, under the direction of Stormy Howell. Gabriella Miller placed 1st in 4A Standard Oratory and Heavenly Tucker placed 4th in 4A Original Oratory. Natori Yates competed in Champs Standard Oratory, Champs Original Oratory and Champs Prose.
The Morris 8th Grade Academic Team recently competed in the Oklahoma Junior Academic Bowl Association’s regional competition and brought home the second-place trophy. The Morris team competed in the 7th and 8th Grade Class B Division. Team members include Jackson Casey, Levi Mathews, Ean Merrill, Maddisyn Payne, and Braden Ramirez.
Each week, Okmulgee FFA advisor Tim Taylor will feature a program member for their service.
This Friday, women and teen girls from across the area will be coming together for Daughters Conference 2021 hosted by The Refuge Church in Okmulgee.
