Police seeking subject in burglary
On Monday, June 10, shortly after 5 a.m., Okmulgee Police took a Burglary report from the Aaron’s Furniture. The suspect(s) apparently parked their vehicle approximately 1/8th mile away from the rear of the store, cut two fences and walked across a livestock pasture to get to the building. Once there the suspect(s) pulled the electric meter, and filled an alarm bell with expanding foam insulation, before breaking in the back door of the store. Once inside the suspect(s) gained access to the safe and a storage closet. They took a deposit bag and merchandise before leaving the store.
During the course of the investigation, officers checked video and purchase data from the nearby WalMart. They discovered an unidentified male, who purchased wire cutters, electrical tape and expanding foam insulation around 3 a.m. Officers are calling the male a person of interest. The attached video is of the male leaving the WalMart after making the purchase. The attached photos are of the male’s hands. His right hand has a covering, possibly indicating an injury. Although the quality of image is not sufficient to determine exactly what the covering is. His left hand has a tattoo which includes an anchor on the back of the hand. There is also a photo of a cap worn by the male when he made the purchases.
Officers need help identifying the male so they can talk to him. Anyone with information is asked to call Okmulgee Police at 918-756-3511 or they can contact the Police Department on Facebook.
