Okmulgee declares civil emergency

The Okmulgee City Council met in a special session Tuesday evening. The council voted to enact an ordinance declaring a civil emergency. The ordinance will go into effect on March 26th, at 11:59PM.

Beginning March 27, the following types of establishments have to close for the duration of the emergency declaration:

•Restaurants, coffeehouses and other places that offer sit in areas for food consumption must close their on premises seating. They can offer curb side, drive thru or delivery.

•Bars, taverns, tasting rooms, clubs and other places that allow on premises consumption of alcohol must close

•Theaters, performance venues

•Gymnasiums, fitness centers, indoor exercise facilities, spas, exercise studios.
