Frontier Days returns to Beggs
There will be plenty of fun this weekend in Okmulgee County.
The annual Pecan Festival is going on in downtown Okmulgee with lots of food, events, a huge carnival and entertainment.
Up north, the City of Beggs is holding the Frontier Days festival Friday and Saturday.
This summer festival is sponsored by the Beggs Area Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and churches.
Frontier Days is being held in conjunction with the annual Rice Brothers Memorial Rodeo.
Frontier Days will feature a parade, auto show, live music, street dance, barbecue competition, outhouse races and more.
For those attending, set up on Main Street and Alternate 75 will begin at 5:30 p.m. There will be DJ music on the stage until 9 p.m. The rodeo will begin at the arena at 8 p.m.
On Saturday, here is the schedule of events:
5-6 a.m. Bass Tournament Registration
7 a.m. Vendor set up begins/DJ on music stage
9 a.m. Festival opens/Kids Zone open
10-11 a.m. Amanda Cunningham Band
10 a.m. Turtle race
10:30 a.m. Parade line up (Main & Choctaw)
11 a.m. Parade - west down Main Street
11-12:30 a.m. - BBQ meat official judging
11:30 a.m.- Outhouse Race (Main & Alt. 75 - go west down Main Street)
12-1:15 p.m. Brad Fielder Band
1-3 p.m. - BBQ Sampler kits for sale ($10 adults/ $3 kids) 1:45-3 p.m. - J.C.
