CORNERSTONE: A PLACE TO RECONNECT

Has your cell phone ran out of power recently? If so, without hesitation you will grab the phone and plug it into a source greater than itself and get it recharged. Likewise, Rev. Mickey Baldwin, lead pastor at Cornerstone Foursquare (CF) explains, “Could it be that we are trying to do life plugged into sources that will keep letting us down time and time again? Sources that will not fully charge us to be who You were created to be?  Join this Sunday and get RECONNECTED to the life giving source we all need.”  Be our guest this week as we discover the LIFE we can experience by getting RECONNECTED to the giver of real life. Saint John wrote, “A thief comes only to rob, kill, and destroy. I (Jesus) came so that everyone would have life, and have it in its fullest (John 10:10).” Pastor Baldwin concludes, “Are you experiencing life to its fullest?  The people of Cornerstone are not perfect people, but we are people who are learning to do life stronger together by the help of God’s Holy Spirit. We hope to see you this Sunday morning. “Location: 617 N. Oklahoma Ave. | Okmulgee OK | Intersection of Oklahoma and Trent.

Trinity Lutheran Church

This Sunday, May 5, is the Third Sunday of Easter (Misericordias Domini) The readings for the Third Sunday of Easter are from Ezekiel 34:11-16, 1 Peter 2:21-25 and John 10:11-16 The Good Shepherd Cares for His Sheep Our Lord Jesus is the Good Shepherd (John 10:11-16). He is not like the hireling, who cares nothing for the sheep and only for himself, who flees when he sees the wolf coming. Rather, Jesus is the Good Shepherd who seeks out His scattered sheep to deliver them (Ezek. 34:11-16). He gathers them and feeds them in rich pasture. He binds up the broken and strengthens the sick. He lays down His life for wandering and wayward sheep. On the cross, Christ bore in His body the attacks of the predators of sin and death and the devil for you that you might be saved. He now lives to restore your soul in the still waters of baptism, to lead you in the paths of righteousness by the voice of His Gospel, to prepare the table of His holy supper before you, that you may dwell in the house of the Lord forever (Psalm 23). “For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls” (1 Peter 2:25).
