Shortly before 3 p.m. November 10, Okmulgee Police received a report of a shooting that occurred in the 1100 block of West 2nd Street. The victim has been identified as a local man but his name is not being released because authorities cannot confirm his family has been notified of his injuries.
The victim identified one of his assailants to responding officers by a street name that was familiar to officers. Based on that information, officers located and arrested Darren Powdrill of Okmulgee.
Witnesses at the scene confirmed hearing one of the assailants referred to by the same street name. They also described a white male assailant and told officers that both suspects left the area in a black car and provided a tag number. Officers were able to identify Daniel Grizzle as being a potential suspect. Officers went to Grizzle's home where they discovered the vehicle described by the witnesses bearing a tag that was one number off of the tag number provided by eye witnesses.
As officers were preparing to make contact, the two persons left in the vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Daniel Grizzle. During a later search of the home, officers recovered a firearm hidden inside the home they believe may be the weapon used in the assault.
Darren Powdrill and Daniel Grizzle were both booked into the Okmulgee County Jail on complaints of Shooting with Intent to Kill. The investigation is continuing.
The victim is in critical condition in a Tulsa hospital.
