Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, for Louise Whitehorn Jennings, who died Thursday, April 19, 2018. Jennings was a resident of rural Henreytta and was born March 25, 1955, in Okmulgee to Richard Whitehorn and Lorene (Thomas) Whitehorn.

Frances B. Guillory, age 81, a resident of Grayson, died Friday, April 20, 2018, at St. John Medical Center Tulsa.

Memorial services for Guillory will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018, in the Precious Memories Chapel of House of Winn Funeral Home-Okmulgee from 2-3 p.m.

Jack Case

 

August 31, 1926-April 21, 2018

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, at First United Methodist Church for Jack Case of Artesia, N.M.

Mr. Case, 91, passed away on April 21, 2018, at San Pedro Nursing Facility in Artesia.

Pastor Monty Leavell will officiate at the service with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eddie Guy, Reggie Guy, Graham Guy, Chris Kuykendall, Mike Anderson and Chuck Wagner. Honorary pallbearers are Eric Case and the CVE Board of Directors and employees.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 25, at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Jack was born on August 31, 1926, in Okmulgee, the son of Willie and Susie Lee (Doyle) Case. On January 21, 1947, he married Doris Moore. They came to Artesia in 1949 from Oklahoma.

Donald 'Cal' Ledford

 

June 5, 1964-April 14, 2018

A long time resident, Cal Ledford went to be with the Lord at the age of 53 on Saturday, April 14, 2018, with his loving family by his side. Cal was born in Okmulgee on June 5, 1964, to JoAnn Ledford and the late Don Ledford. 

Cal graduated from Morris High School in 1982. Soon after graduation he welcomed a beautiful little girl into the world; Codi Dawn Ledford. Cal met the love of his life Jeannean on March 15, 1990,  and the two got married on May 19, 1998,  and since have spent 19 years of marriage together and have raised their daughter Annber. Cal spent the majority of his working years at Okmulgee Ready Mix and also spent twelve years as a manager for a cable office. When Cal wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time and being around his family the most.

Mary Linda Gray Halbrook

Mary Linda Gray Halbrook, age 72, passed from this life to the next, reaching her heavenly home in the afternoon of April 15, 2018.

Linda was born December 3, 1945, in Okmulgee where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from OHS in 1964.  Attending OSU in Stillwater and continuing her education in Tulsa, Linda became a registered nurse. She used her nursing skills caring for patients in both Okmulgee and Tulsa for many years. 

Linda was extremely intelligent and talented. She had a beautiful voice and played the piano by ear, as well as reading music. She also enjoyed writing poetry, stories and corresponding with friends. Linda loved ballet and dancing. She was an avid reader, with many interests and a wonderful memory. She was naturally artistic and very creative.

William Carl Lee

 

February 25, 1983-April 12, 2018

After a hard fought battle, William Carl Lee passed away on April 12, 2018, at the age of 35. He leaves behind his wife Stephanie and their three children Tasha, Garret, and Will.

Carl was born in Okmulgee on February 25, 1983, to Rocky and Susie Lee. He spent his years growing up with his younger brother Joseph, and his younger sister Tiffany.

Carl graduated from Okmulgee High School in 2001. During his years there,  he was a tremendous athlete and qualified for state in wrestling all four years of his high school career, which led him to the opportunity of traveling to Australia to compete and represent the United States.

Colonel Raymond D. Toothaker

Colonel Raymond D. Toothaker, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, died  April 14, 2018. He was born March 7, 1931, in Van Buren, Ark. as the second of five children born to Everett and Edna (Sallee) Toothaker, who preceded him in death, as well as a brother, Allen Ray and infant sister, Alice Ann.

Charles Green

Charles Walter Green, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma died Saturday, April 14, 2018 after a brief illness.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 2 p.m., at the First Christian Church of Okmulgee. Burial will be at a later date at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Charlie was born on July 3, 1942 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Theodore and Beverly Green.  He met and married is wife of 53 years in 1964.  Together they raised 3 children in Tulsa and enjoy their many grandchildren.  At the time of his death he was serving as the pastor of the First Christian Church of Okmulgee.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother.  He is survived by his wife, Jane Green, daughter Erin Kelley, son Zack Green, daughter Ashley (Brian) Green-Young, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Philip (Joni) Green, sister Jacque Green, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Gary Todd

Gary Michael Todd, age 61, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on April 9, 2018, at his home in Sapulpa.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 16, at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at the Floral Haven Cemetery.

Gary was born in Tulsa on May 12, 1956, to Iva Jane Watson (Dean) and Jerry Clem Todd of Tulsa. He graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1974 and later became a custom painter for automobiles.

Richard M. Cavanaugh

 

September 9, 1922-April 5, 2018

Richard M. Cavanaugh, Jr. died April 5, 2018, at the age of 95 surrounded by family who loved him dearly. An adventurer. A gardener. An avid reader. A trivia expert. A dedicated husband and father. Richard, one of five brothers, was born September 9, 1922, in Okmulgee to Richard and Sarah Arnold Cavanaugh.

His family later moved to Norman where he attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and met his future wife, Anneita Tullius.

During World War II, Richard served as a medic with the 127th Infantry. He received a Purple Heart for wounds sustained in the Philippines, a Bronze Star, and the Combat Medical badge for his service in the Leyte and Luzon Campaigns. He was a member of the occupying forces in Japan when the war ended.
