The Preston Pirates will begin their journey towards a fall baseball state tournament appearance for the first time since 2005 this Monday at home in a doubleheader against the Moss Pirates.

Monday's first game is scheduled to get underway at 4:30 p.m. at the Jim Waller Sports Complex in Preston. Game 2 of the twinbill will take place about 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.

The Pirates finished 2017 with a 24-9 record and were one win away from a state tournament appearance.

Following Monday's season opener, the Preston diamond squad will travel to Braggs on Tuesday for a 12 p.m. showdown with the Braggs Wildcats.

Two days later (August 9), the Pirates will once again take to the road, traveling to Ripley for a 3-team showdown with the Frontier Mustangs and the host Ripley Warriors. The first game of the 3-team battle is set to begin at 2 p.m.
