The Okmulgee Times is excited to announce the Okmulgee NOW app is the official location for all things Pecan Festival. Set to start Thursday, June 14, the Pecan Festival will have several fun family activities, delicious food trucks and a variety of vendors for the three-day festival. The Okmulgee Now app can help festival goers find their favorite food trucks and vendors with a specialized map that details all of the fun activities the Pecan Festival offers.

“The Okmulgee NOW app is a wonderful resource  we at the Times are proud to be a part of and we are excited to announce it will be the official app of the Pecan Festival,” Okmulgee Times General Manager Anthony Nieto said. “This year, we partnered with the Chamber of Commerce to provide $1 off bottled water to all attendees who have the app downloaded to their phone.”

Festival goers can show that they have the app downloaded at the Chamber of Commerce tent to receive $1 off bottled water.

The Pecan Festival is scheduled to begin 5 p.m. Thursday and last until 11 p.m. Saturday with numerous family fun activities planned. With so many events planned, it might be hard to keep up with when the Pet Parade starts and when the Turtle Races start. But the Okmulgee NOW app has the official schedule of events right on your phone, making it easy to figure out when the next events happen.

Applications for community events can also be found on the app ranging from the 2018 BBQ competition to the Best Cookie Ever contest.

The Pecan Festival section of the app even features a weather widget that allows attendees to see what the weather is like before attending the Pecan Festival.

“A full schedule of events, map and details about each vendor is housed on the app in the Pecan Festival section on the homepage,” Nieto said.

Those wishing for a hard copy of the Pecan Festival map and pertinent information can see the special section inserted in today’s issue.
