Governor Mary Fallin signs proclamation for upcoming festival

The Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce this year’s Pecan Festival has received a proclamation from Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin. The Governor sent the proclamation to the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce this week. 

It says in part “Whereas Okmulgee has a rich and varied history, and the buildings that comprise its downtown historic district are reflective of its past and illustrate the different cultural groups and economic activities that help this Oklahoma community flourish; and Whereas, Okmulgee’s Pecan Festival is a three-day event which offers something for the entire family, including a carnival, turtle races, pet parade, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, a local barbecue competition, and musical entertainment; whereas the Okmulgee Pecan Festival is also proud to host its second annual Splash and Dash 5K Fun Run/Walk; now therefore, I, Mary Fallin, Governor, do hereby proclaim June 14th through June 16th, 2018, as Okmulgee Pecan Festival & BBQ Championship Days.”
