WMMC hosts April meeting, will convene May 6

Eighteen members and guests attended the April meeting of the Wednesday Morning Music Club (WMMC). 

The meeting was held in the home of Larry and Tammy McKee. Guests attending were: Kina Leybas, longtime friend of Tammy McKee; Brynna Boyd, student performer; Brynna’s grandmother, Patsy Thomas; Noelle Lang, Cordia Sharp Belisle’s granddaughter; Cordia Sharp Belisle’s son, Steve Sharp and Bob Crandall. 

Student performer for April was Brynna Boyd who sang, “Do-Re-Mi,” from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, “The Sound of Music.” Tammy McKee accompanied her on the piano.  

Next, Mrs. McKee played (piano) Prelude, Op 28 No. 15 (Raindrop Prelude) by Chopin. Sid Mcvey  (trombone) played “Pavanne for a Dead Princess,” by Ravel, arranged by Harold L. Walters. He was accompanied by Cordia Sharp Belisle. “Satisfied with Jesus,” (B.B. McKinney) was sung by Adonna Shelton, accompanied by Cordia Sharp Belisle. Jo Dee Shoffner (violin) played “Evening Prayer,” from Engelbert Humperdinck’s opera, “Hansel and Gretel” and sang “Sweet Hour of Prayer” by William Walford. Steve Sharp (piano) played Chopin’s “Etude in a flat Opus 25.” WMMC’S newest member, Harleen Rhea (piano) played “Bagatelle in G minor by Beethoven. 

This Sunday, May 6, WMMC holds their final meeting of the season: their annual membership tea. Guests are welcome, but should RSVP to Dana Mims, WMMC president for details at dmims@windstream.net.
