Javier Ramirez  Incumbent Candidate for Okmulgee City Council Ward 4

I am Javier Ramirez and currently serve as your City Councilman for Ward 4.  I am asking for your support and vote on February 13, so that I may continue to represent you and help your voice be heard and push #Okmulgeerising to the next level.

I was introduced to Okmulgee in 1998 and opened my law practice downtown next to the historic Orpheum Theater in 2001, just after marrying the love of my life, Pandee Moore.  I have been blessed with 3 sons, Esai, Braden and Rowan, who along with Pandee and I, are active with Boy Scouts of America.  In the past I have also served our community on the Main Street Board of Directors, as well as donated to the local youth baseball associations and help coach little league baseball.

I share a law office with my father-in-law, Patrick Moore and together we renovated what was the original Western Union office for Okmulgee into its present state and for our efforts, we received the Historic Preservation award in 2002.

Most recently, we were fortunate to have a mural painted on the eastern wall by Yatika Fields who was commissioned by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and completed during Orangefest in 2015.

My platform for City Council is economic development, which is multifaceted in that we must make Okmulgee attractive to businesses throughout our entire community, which involves working together with our school systems, civic organizations and other local governments.  We need to make it easier for new businesses to open and maintain current businesses, through ease of code enforcement and startup incentives.  We need to continue to improve our infrastructure and public works and continue to provide public safety with our fire and police departments.  Our community is rich in resources and great people and we need to highlight those resources and workforce to the world.

I intend to continue to facilitate and work with OSUIT, College of Muscogee Nation, Green Country, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Okmulgee County and all civic organizations to keep Okmulgee moving forward.  In addition, you our citizens are key to making Okmulgee what it is capable of being and creating a place people want to live and raise their families.

I ask you to please take the time to vote and to choose me, Javier Ramirez as your City Councilman. Thank you.
