The Lady Eagles fought hard to keep up with the Lady Demons, trailing behind by just a few baskets in the first quarter. Beggs was able to get ahead in the first quarter with completed shots by Moiya Phillips and Trinity Phillips.

Trinity was able to complete one three pointer at the beginning of the quarter, which was followed by Moiya making a basket. Moiya and Trinity’s shots were accompanied by completed baskets from Chiawna Johnson and Kaitlin Couch.

Lady Eagle Sydnee Lewis would not let the Lady Demons get too far ahead of the Lady Eagles, earning two three pointers at the top of the quarter. Lewis would follow her two three point baskets with a bucket.

Accompanying Lewis’ scoring streak was Lady Eagle Madyson Lewis who also earned a three point shot for the Lady Eagles.

Despite having high scoring players, the Lady Eagles trailed behind the triumphant Lady Demons in the first quarter by six points, 17-11.

The Lady Demons would not relinquish their hold on the six point lead in the second quarter, having another high scoring quarter. Chiawna Johnson pulled out all the stops to earn two buckets, which would be followed by Trinity Phillips scoring her third two pointer.

Lady Demon Emiko Goudeau got on the scoreboard in the second quarter after two failed free throws in the first. Goudeau earned a two pointer that would advance the Lady Demons score to 23 points in the second quarter. She would be joined by Couch who would earn her second basket of the night.

Though they advanced their lead in the second quarter, the Lady Demons had to play it safe with the Lady Eagles improving their offense game.

The Lady Eagles had a small comeback with a 13 point quarter. Charie Barnett and Kyzia Wishenhunt stepped up their scoring game in the second quarter.  Barnett earned two baskets and two out of three free throws, while Wizenhunt got on the scoreboard at the beginning of the quarter with a bang, earning a three point basket.

Fouls by the Lady Demons would slowly advance the Lady Eagles score to leave them only behind three points at the top of the third quarter, 27-24.

Beggs saw their lead diminish in the second quarter and did everything they could to increase their lead once again. In the third quarter, Chiawna Johnson had another high scoring quarter adding another two baskets to her overall points for the game. She was quickly joined by teammate Cheyenne Johnson who timed her shot right and earned a three pointer.

The Lady Eagles began to trail behind the Lady Demons again earning a total of nine points for the third quarter, falling behind by six points again, 39-33.

Burnett was only able to tack on two baskets, while Lewis added five points to the scoreboard with a three point shot and a basket.

The Lady Demons sealed the Lady Eagles defeat in the fourth quarter with their second 12-point quarter. Chiawna Johnson and Couch were the only Lady Demons able to make it past the Lady Eagles offense to score, earning a total of four two pointers. Beggs was able to get ahead with four free throws completed by Moiya Phillips.

The Lady Eagles began to slow in the fourth quarter with Burnett carrying the team with three consecutive two pointers. It just wasn’t enough to topple the Lady Demons high scoring quarter.

The Lady Demons 51-40  win over county rival the Lady Eagles, improved their season record to 5-3, while the Lady Eagles took their fifth loss of the season making their record 7-5. The Lady Demons currently hold the 13th spot in Class 3A.
