James Clifton Clayton

 March 28, 1963 - December 4, 2017

James Clifton "Cliff" Clayton passed away Monday morning, December 4, 2017, at his home.  He was 54 years old.  Cliff was born to the late Buddy and Olive (Brewer) Clayton in Bakersfield, Calif. on Thursday, March 28, 1963.

Cliff enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping were some of his favorite things to do.  In his early years, he built hot rod cars. Cliff had a love for dogs and dogs had a love for him. He owned five. Cliff's pride and joy were his four granddaughters.

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents; son Karl Mathew Clayton; and sister Deborah J. Weekly. Left to cherish all of the wonderful memories of Cliff are his wife June Clayton; son James Christopher Clayton and wife Shelby of Coweta; daughters Kaylee Milligan of Okmulgee and Sarah Glenn of Okmulgee; granddaughters Sadie and Sydney Clayton, Kynlyn and Kynlee Milligan; sisters Louise Ramsey and Alma Churchhill; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Cliff will be held on 2 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee, with Reverend Jonathan Hanshaw officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wilson Salt Creek Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
