Junior Bulldogs seek Superbowl titles

DEWEY - Two Okmulgee Junior Football teams will battle for championships this Saturday in the NEOYFA Superbowl in Cushing.

The Junior Bulldogs will meet the Perkins Bandits for the championship trophies in the third and sixth grade title games at O’Dell Field in Cushing.

Both Okmulgee squads punched their ticket to Saturday’s Superbowl with identical 14-8 victories last Saturday in Dewey.

The third-grade Junior Bulldogs knocked off the Oologah Mustangs in their playoff contest, while the Okmulgee sixth graders earned a second-straight win over the Bristow Purple Pirates with the 6-point playoff win.

Okmulgee and Perkins met in Week 2 of the 2017 campaign in Perkins with Perkins walking away with wins - 26-12 in the third grade game and 6-0 in the sixth grade contest.

Saturday’s third-grade championship game will take place at 12:15 p.m., while the sixth-grade title contest will be held at 5:30 p.m.
