Okmulgee Chamber to hold annual banquet Nov. 17

“Unmasking Our Success” is the theme for the Chamber of Commerce’s banquet this year. Executive Director Kay Rabbitt-Brower says plans call for the event to be held Friday, Nov. 17 at the Okmulgee Community Center.

“The banquet planning committee is working to make it a fun evening,” Rabbitt-Brower said. “Everyone is being asked to wear colorful Venetian-type masks. The more elaborate the better. We’re planning to have masks for sale at the Chamber office.”

Tickets to the event are $50 each, and corporate tables of eight are available for $360. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office at 112 N. Morton Avenue. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“We will also recognize the first Community Champion this year,” Rabbitt-Brower said. “This award is designed to recognize an individual who works diligently to positively impact and improve Okmulgee. We’re excited about this award and the person selected to receive it.”

The Ambassador of the Year will also be recognized, she pointed out.

Happy Hour will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., with the banquet beginning at 7 p.m.

Rabbitt-Brower added that details are still being finalized, but encourages those interested in attending to drop by the Chamber office for their tickets. Masks can be purchased at the Chamber as well, although it is not required they be purchased there.
