Jimmy Dale Ledford

July 28, 1948 - May 18, 2017

Jimmy Dale Ledford passed away Thursday morning, May 18, 2017, in Okmulgee at 68 years of age.  He was born July 28, 1948, in Okmulgee to the late Obie and Ruby (Dixon) Ledford. Jim attended Liberty Morris Schools and was a member of the last graduating class.  He received a Master’s Degree in Administration at Northeastern State University and retired as principal at Morris Public Schools in 2004.  Jim had been an active member of the Okmulgee County Farm Bureau, Okmulgee County Cattleman’s Association, OSSAA, FFA, Rural Water Board and the First Baptist Church of Morris.  Jim enjoyed supporting the Morris Eagles going to flea markets, raising cattle and farming.  He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Don Ledford.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Nell Ledford of the home; children, Lauri Lee of Pawhuska, Jami Macaluso and husband Larry of Morris, Blake Ledford and wife Hollie of Morris, Walt White of Bartlesville and Wade White and wife Carie of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Jaina Alburiahi and husband Yass of Broken Arrow, Jordan White of Hiwassee, Ark., Jayli Lee of Morris, Jaci Ledford of Morris, Clay White of Beggs, Clara Macaluso of Morris, Jaxon Ledford  of Morris, Baylor Ledford of Morris, Karsyn White of  Ochelata, and Colton Macaluso of Morris; great granddaughter, Zahra Alburiahi, sisters, Sherry Ledford of Okmulgee and Ann Ledford of Morris; brother, David Ledford and wife Cassie of Beggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. 

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at the First Baptist Church of Morris with Reverend Ray Moffeit officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jim Ledford Scholarship in care of the Morris State Bank.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
