Lady Pirates explode in 13-1 rout
By Patrick Ford Editor

Lady Pirates blowout Collinsville The Preston Lady Pirates delivered a dominant performance Thursday, erupting for 11 runs in the second inning on their way to a 13-1 rout of the Collinsville Lady Cards.

After a relatively quiet opening frame, Preston’s offense came alive in explosive fashion in the second inning. The rally featured contributions up and down the lineup, including RBI singles from Brooklyn Gertner and Tyleigh Edwards, a bases-loaded walk by Aiyana Beaver and a grand slam blasted to left field by Taylan Starr. Alynn LeBlanc added an RBI double, and Ashleigh Hurt capped the inning with a three-run home run to right.

The Lady Pirates didn’t let up, adding to their lead in the third inning when Kynlee Martin launched a tworun homer to right field.

In the circle, Kristin Holuby earned the win, allowing just one run on two hits over three innings while striking out one and walking one.

Preston’s offense was relentless, racking up 15 hits in the contest. Martin led the charge with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate, while Starr went 2-for-3 and drove in a team-high four runs. Hurt and Sophia Bunner also recorded multiple hits in the victory.

Defensively, Preston was flawless, committing no errors. LeBlanc handled the most chances in the field, helping anchor a clean defensive effort.

For Collinsville, Emma Helm and Mollie Cavanaugh each collected a hit, while Paige Hall drove in the team’s lone run.

With the convincing win, the Lady Pirates continue to showcase their offensive firepower and balanced team play as they move deeper into the season.

— Preston bests Muskogee in offensive showcase

The Preston Lady Pirates unleashed an offensive explosion Thursday, outslugging the Muskogee Roughers 16-9 in a high-scoring showdown at Collinsville.

Leading the charge was Kynlee Martin, who delivered a dominant performance at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs. Martin’s power display came at crucial moments, as she homered in both the second and sixth innings to help Preston maintain control in a back-and-forth contest.

Preston wasted no time setting the tone, plating multiple runs in the opening inning. Martin drove in the first run with a single, while Olivia Beaver added a three-run blast to center field. The Lady Pirates continued to pile on, finishing with 17 hits in the contest.

Despite building an early lead, Preston faced a challenge when Muskogee battled back to tie the game at 8-8 in the fifth inning, fueled by a pair of home runs, including a game-tying shot by Kyra Rowland.

However, the Lady Pirates responded emphatically in the sixth inning, erupting for six runs on six hits. Martin delivered the decisive blow with another home run, driving in two and putting the game out of reach.

Kristin Holuby earned the win in the circle, working all seven innings while allowing nine runs (seven earned) on 15 hits. Offensively, she also contributed three hits. Beaver joined Martin with multiple home runs, while Ashleigh Hurt, Alynn LeBlanc, Sophia Bunner and Taylan Starr each added multiple hits.

Muskogee matched Preston’s intensity with 15 hits of their own. Ke’Lashia Smith led the Roughers with three RBIs, while she and Ja’Keis Gandy each collected three hits.

Preston will look to carry the momentum into Monday’s matchup at Porum.
