Knights drop close games
By Patrick Ford Editor

In a game dominated by pitching, the Henryetta Knights came up just short in a 3-1 loss to the Dewey Bulldoggers last Thursday.

Dewey struck early, as Easton Davis launched a solo home run in the first inning to give the Bulldoggers an immediate advantage. They added another run in the second on an RBI single by Jackson Fox.

Henryetta battled throughout but struggled to generate enough offense against Dewey starter Levi Wilson, who delivered a strong outing. Wilson went 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one run on six hits while striking out seven.

Boston Morris provided a bright spot for the Knights, driving in their lone run while going 2-for-4 at the plate. Will Perez also added two hits in the effort.

Hunter Bowdler took the loss after allowing two runs over three innings. The Knights’ bullpen, led by EJ Glover, performed well in relief, holding Dewey scoreless over the final 3 1/3 innings.

— Knights drop close game to Meeker The Henryetta Knights dropped a hard-fought 4-2 decision to Meeker on Monday, despite a strong showing on the mound from their pitching staff.

Meeker struck early in the first inning, taking advantage of a fielder’s choice and a two-run double by Daythan Lawson to build a 3-0 lead.

Henryetta managed to push across two runs, but struggled to generate consistent offense against Meeker starter Maverick Herring, who dominated on the mound. Herring allowed no hits and no earned runs over seven innings while striking out 12 batters.

James Joslin recorded an RBI for the Knights, while Boston Morris contributed on the basepaths with two stolen bases.

Henryetta’s pitching staff turned in a solid performance after the first inning. Starter EJ Glover allowed three runs over one inning, but Hunter Bowdler was outstanding in relief. Bowdler pitched five innings, giving up just one hit and one run while striking out 12 batters, though he was charged with the loss.

Meeker finished with limited hits but made them count. Lawson led the way with two RBIs, while the team also drew seven walks and stole four bases.
