• Okmulgee’s code en‑forcement officer, Olan Henderson, earned na‑tional certification as a building inspector after passing an exten‑sive examination cov‑ering plumbing, electri‑cal, building and safety codes. He became one of only a dozen inspectors in Oklahoma to hold the credential. • Hubert Byrd of Ok‑mulgee and Dr. Ray‑mond Cox of Henryet‑ta were elected to new three‑year terms on the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Lung As‑sociation. The annual meeting also featured a keynote address em‑phasizing nonsmokers’ rights and the ongoing fight against lung dis‑ease. Both men also served on the board of the Green Country Af‑filiate, which included Okmulgee and sur‑rounding counties.
