The Mojo Grappling Academy made the most of a small roster this weekend, turning in an impressive performance at the Sand Springs freestyle tournament after the Mat Gear Nationals were canceled.
With just three athletes competing, the local club still managed to bring home two medals, showcasing both determination and skill on the mat.
Colton “Colt 45” Tecumseh led the way for Mojo, finishing as runner-up in the 12U 67-pound division. Tecumseh posted a strong 2-1 record on the day, battling his way to a silver medal with a series of hard-fought matches.
Lillian Primeaux also delivered a solid performance in the 14U Girls 150-pound division. Primeaux finished 2-1, forcing a three-way tie for first place. After tie-breaker criteria were applied, she earned a thirdplace finish and brought home a bronze medal.
Despite the limited numbers, Mojo Grappling Academy opened the freestyle season on a high note, proving that even a small team can make a big impact on the medal stand.
