Henryetta High School tennis teams turned in an impressive showing last weekend at the 4A Classic in Oklahoma City, highlighted by a near championship finish for the Lady Knights and a strong podium effort by the Knights.
The Lady Knights came within a single point of claiming the team title, finishing as tournament runner-up with 26 points. Byng narrowly edged Henryetta for the championship with 27 points in what proved to be one of the closest finishes of the event.
On the boys side, the Knights battled to a third-place tie with Ardmore, finishing just behind tournament champion Byng and runner-up Elk City. The strong team performance underscored Henryetta’s depth and competitiveness across multiple brackets.
Leading the way for Henryetta was the standout doubles team of Alex Clayton and Kamron Hill, who cap- tured the championship at No. 2 doubles. The duo’s dominant run through the bracket provided a major boost to the Knights’ overall team score and served as one of the highlights of the weekend.
The combined efforts of both teams showcased Henryetta’s continued rise in the 4A ranks, with multiple athletes contributing key points throughout the tournament. The Lady Knights’ near-title finish and the boys’ podium placement reflect a program gaining momentum as the season progresses.
Henryetta will look to build on this success in upcoming meets as both squads continue their push toward postseason play.
