Alice Jeffress

March 23, 1942 – March 28, 2026

Alice Jeffress, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, passed away on March 28, 2026, in Bixby, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 23, 1942, in Okmulgee to Haydon and Glenna (Hankins) Hendrickson.

Alice grew up in Okmulgee, and at age nine, a little boy moved in across the street, Joe Bob Jeffress, who would become the love of her life. She graduated from Okmulgee High School with the Class of 1960. Alice and Joe Bob married on August 26, 1965, at First Methodist Church in Morris and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August of 2025.

Alice worked her early years at M&D Star Drug, but what she loved most was taking care of children. She had a natural gift for nurturing others.

Alice enjoyed playing card and board games and was an avid sports fan, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, OKC Thunder and OU Sooners, but above all, she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Haydon and Glenna Hendrickson; her sister, Doris Chapman; and her brothers, Andy Hendrickson, Haydon Hendrickson and John Hendrickson.

Alice is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Bob Jeffress, of 60 years; her sister, Glenna McConnell; her brother, Donald Hendrickson; her daughter, Shannon Price and husband Lance of Morris; her son, Mike Jeffress and wife Tracy of Skiatook; her grandchildren, Emily Price and fiancé Tanner Sweetwood, Chandler Price, Alison Jeffress, Tate Jeffress; her great grandchildren Alice Price, Blakely Sweetwood and Jade Jeffress; as well as her bonus grandchildren, Tyler Vermillon and wife Briana, Lauren Avila and husband Sammy, McKenzie Hopper and husband Bobby, Amber Nagorski and husband Tyler, Jessica Espinoza and Cydney Craig; and bonus great-grandchildren, Braxton, Lacy, Bailey, Carly, Navy, Sammy Jr., Kora, Bodhi, Birdi, Kassian, Keras, Grace and Ava.

Alice will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Morris Cemetery Chapel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mc-Clendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on Alice’s Tribute Page at www.mcclendon- winters.com.
