The remodeling project that has completely revamped the Okmulgee County Courthouse is almost wrapped up. Visitors to the building can now access updated, ADA-compliant bathroom facilities for both men and women on the first floor. Another space that has undergone a complete transformation is the Okmulgee County Election Board. Secretary Ashley Carnes had some input on the design and layout for the space which included new paint, new painted floors that resemble marble with a clean, sleek look, a reconfigured front area to assist those having business in the office and an open area for election board personnel and workers. Carnes and her staff are getting ready for the next election on April 10. That is a multi-entity election, with six school districts: Henryetta Public Schools, Wilson Public Schools, Liberty Public Schools and Tulsa Technology Center for Board of Education seats and Central Technology Center and Graham-Dustin Public Schools Special Elections.
