Beggs announces community Clean Up Day April 18

Residents of Beggs will have an opportunity to freshen up their properties and dispose of unwanted items during the upcoming Beggs Clean Up Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

City officials are encouraging community members to take part in the annual effort, which is designed to help keep neighborhoods clean, reduce clutter and promote community pride.

Participants are reminded that all loads must be pre-sorted before arrival and must be unloaded by the owner. Organizers stress that following these guidelines will help ensure the event runs smoothly and efficiently for everyone involved.

To better accommodate different types of materials, several designated drop-off locations will be available throughout Beggs:

• Armory – Accepting metal items, appliances and batteries

• Dumpsters on Main Street – For general household items; all materials must be bagged or boxed, and no loose items will be accepted

• Napa Auto Parts (West of the Store) – Tires without rims will be accepted; however, truck tires and tractor tires are not permitted

• Beggs Lake (On Hickory) – For natural debris such as limbs, brush and leaves; no household trash allowed at this site City officials also emphasized that certain items will not be accepted under any circumstances, including chemicals, paints and food waste.

Traffic for the event will be directed with entry on Western Avenue, heading east onto Main Street, helping to maintain an orderly flow of vehicles throughout the cleanup.

While the event is intended primarily for Beggs residents, non-residents are welcome to participate with a requested $20 donation.

Organizers say the clean-up day is not only about removing unwanted items, but also about strengthening community involvement.

“This is a great opportunity for residents to come together, take pride in their surroundings and make a visible difference in Beggs,” organizers noted.

Residents are encouraged to arrive early, follow sorting guidelines, and take advantage of the convenient drop-off options as the community works together to keep Beggs clean and welcoming.
