The Beggs Golden Demons delivered a dominating performance Thursday, scoring 13 runs while blanking the Morris Eagles 13-0 in a regular season matchup at Warner. Behind timely hitting, strong pitching and error-free defense, Beggs controlled the contest from the opening pitch and turned a big fourth-inning rally into an insurmountable lead.
Beggs struck first in the bottom of the first inning. Dallas Wilson opened the scoring with a groundout that allowed a runner to cross the plate, and Colton McCoy followed with a single up the middle to bring home another run. By the end of the frame, Beggs held a 2-0 advantage.
The Golden Demons added two more runs in the third inning. Wilson doubled down the left-field line, scoring two to extend the lead to 4-0. McCoy and Lane Kelley also contributed with solid plate appearances that helped Beggs maintain offensive pressure.
Beggs’ offense erupted in the fourth inning, sending nine runs across the plate in a showcase of patience, power and aggressive baserunning. Owen Holland singled to score a run, while Kelley drew a walk that pushed another runner home. Wilson doubled in two more runs, and McCoy followed with his own double, driving in two additional runs. Ty Woods singled to bring home a run, and Holland later crossed the plate on a hit-bypitch, with a passed ball adding another run to the total. By the end of the inning, Beggs had a commanding 13-0 lead, effectively ending the game as Morris failed to threaten offensively.
Wilson led the offense with two hits and four RBIs, while McCoy also contributed two hits and three RBIs. Ty Woods and Owen Holland each drove in a run, and both Woods and McCoy stole bases, helping Beggs take full advantage of every opportunity on the basepaths. Additional doubles came from Wilson, McCoy and Landon Helt, giving the Golden Demons a well-rounded offensive attack. Jerrett Hammer also stole a base, contributing to Beggs’ total of four steals for the game.
Pitching was equally strong for Beggs. Kash Coale earned the win, tossing five innings of shutout ball while allowing four hits, walking two and striking out six. Coale kept the Eagles off balance and prevented any sustained offensive threats, allowing Beggs’ offense to build an early and insurmountable lead.
Defensively, Beggs played error-free ball and turned a key double play during the contest. Wilson led the team with seven chances at the field, while several other players contributed with standout plays that kept the Eagles off the scoreboard.
Morris struggled to generate offense, collecting only a handful of hits. Landon Martin, Grant Clay, Baylor Ledford and Jaret West each had one hit, but the Eagles were unable to push any runs across. Keaton Carnes and R. Rainery handled the pitching duties for Morris, combining for three and onethird innings while allowing 10 runs, nine of which were earned.
Beggs’ victory was fueled by a balanced combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, efficient pitching and clean defense. The Golden Demons amassed 11 hits, stole four bases and showcased both power and precision to dominate the Eagles from start to finish.
With the win, Beggs builds momentum as the team prepares to travel to Gulf Shores, Ala. to compete in the Gulf Coast Classic over Spring Break, bringing confidence from a strong start to the season and a dominant performance against Morris.
