The Oklahoma Tax Commission recently released city sales tax collection figures that primarily represents local tax receipts from February business. The monies they reported this period represent sales from Jan. 16-31 and estimated sales from Feb. 1-15.
Statewide, the disbursement of $185,644,966 sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $4,483,514 from the $181,161,452 distributed to the cities and towns in March last year. The use tax disbursement to cities and town was $31,323,558 according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $33,067,165 sales tax disbursement and a $6,610,896 use tax disbursement.
The attached chart compares city sales taxes and taxable sales in area cities, towns and counties as well as a comparison for the same period in 2025. Taxable Sales are calculated by dividing the tax collected by the tax rate and it shows a rough estimate of retail sales activity.
